About
Christian Eder is an Austrian contemporary artist working between Vienna, Illmitz and Bregenz.
His practice is rooted in painting, object-based works and spatial systems, and develops through
long-term serial processes shaped by reduction, variation and displacement.
The works are conceived as serial structures and more open configurations. It is conceived as
serial structures, yet each work maintains its own independence. Small shifts in line, order and
spacing can become decisive.
Across different sites and spatial contexts, painting is not understood as representation, but as
something shaped through its surroundings and their architectural conditions.
